It was officiated by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and the Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces - who also toured the entire exhibition. The guidance of His Majesty has been instrumental in BRIDEX's inception.
BRIDEX 2007 saw the participation of 108 companies, representing 16 countries, with more than 60 international delegates from 17 countries and over 11,000 visitors during the three-day show. One of the highlights of BRIDEX 2007 was the "Defence White Paper 2007 Update: Defending the Nation's Sovereignty", which His Majesty also consented to launch during the opening of the exhibition.
